Items infringing intellectual property rights (counterfeit products).
Firearms, swords, explosives, and toxic substances, including imitation or decorative weapons, and explosive or toxic substances.
Drugs and narcotics regulated by the Narcotics Control Act (requires approval from the Minister of Health and Welfare).
Gelatin capsules containing animal-derived ingredients such as chicken, beef, pork, or gelatin capsules containing urea-derived ingredients.
Processed meat products (jerky) and honey (up to 5kg can be cleared through customs).
Cosmetics containing the word "ACNE" (e.g., salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide).
Hazardous or flammable items, including asbestos cloths (fire curtains).
Adult goods and illegal drugs.
Medicines and health supplements restricted to 6 bottles (requires a doctor's prescription and customs approval for more than 6 bottles).
Oil products (milk powder, baby food, cheese, etc.) are restricted to 5kg (requires submission of heat-treated certification from the exporting country for more than 5kg, or the entire shipment will be disposed of without being cleared).
Electronic devices (Tablet PCs, smartphones, TVs, etc.) can be cleared by individuals up to 1 per person without meeting any specific requirements. However, importing more than 2 of the same model requires approval based on the Radio Waves Act.
When importing electrical appliances, up to 1 unit per model can be imported without safety certification procedures. However, importing more than 2 of the same model requires safety certification for customs clearance.
